Portions of Interstate 279 and the I-279/I-579 High Occupancy Vehicle lanes in Pittsburgh, Ross and Ohio Township will close from Friday night through the morning of Aug. 22.
The Department of Public Works announced the closures are required to demolish Jacks Run Bridge No. 3, which carries Jacks Run Road over I-279 between Bellevue Road/Bellpark Drive and Kane Lane in Ross.
Public Works originally closed Jacks Run Bridge No. 3 on July 3, 2025, after inspectors discovered corrosion in the structure’s only pier. Before its closure, the bridge carried an average of 4,631 vehicles daily…
