An updated weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 7:41 a.m. for gusty winds until noon for Westmoreland Ridges, Fayette Ridges and Higher Elevations of Indiana as well as Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Beaver, Allegheny, Armstrong, Washington, Greene, Westmoreland, Fayette and Indiana counties.
“Scattered showers this morning will be capable of producing brief strong wind gusts between 35-45 mph as they move eastward across the Upper Ohio Valley. An isolated gust of 50 mph is possible,” says the weather service.
