Injured, Elderly Fisherman Rescued In Pennsylvania

Firefighters in Pennsylvania rescued an injured, elderly fisherman who became trapped on a river bank late Saturday night.

The Emsworth Volunteer Fire Company said crews responded at around 9:45 p.m. April 11 to a report of an injured fisherman trapped on the river bank near the Emsworth Lock and Dam. They arrived to find an elderly man some 20 feet over the hillside on rocky terrain.

With additional manpower called to the scene, crews set up a rope system to haul the man back up the hillside. The man was brought back to ground level around 25 minutes after dispatch, the fire department said…
