FRISCO, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University men’s and women’s track & field teams were honored by the Southland Conference Friday, when the league office announced 10 SLU student-athletes had been named to the SLC All-Academic Teams.
On the women’s side, Ava Pitarro, Breanna Becerra, Kallie Calvaruso, Onyah Favour, and Miriam Kauer each earned spots on the team after success on the track and in the classroom.
Pitarro earned All-Academic status with a 4.0 cumulative GPA. The junior distance runner posted back-to-back first-place finishes in the 1,500-meter run, winning at the Pelican Relays (5:05.07) and the Strawberry Relays (4:59.54)…
