Prosecutors Say She Secretly Sold Her Employer’s Jewelry Until Investigators Followed the Trail Through Local Pawn Shops

A former Lake Worth jewelry store employee is being held on a $216,000 bond after investigators say she spent months stealing high-end jewelry from her employer and pawning it across South Florida.

WPBF 25 News reporter Nikita Ramos reported that 34-year-old Zabrina Herrera Acosta appeared before a judge Thursday for the first time after being accused of running what authorities described as a months-long theft scheme at YR Jewelry in Lake Worth.

Ramos said the judge called the allegations a “very serious situation” during the hearing, where Acosta faced 60 criminal charges tied to the alleged theft and pawn-shop transactions…
