Indie sleaze has been having its moment, and if there were any doubt, the Strokes are still selling out Hard Rock Live in the year of our Lord 2026.
Julian Casablancas, Albert Hammond Jr. Fabrizio Moretti, and co. took the stage around 9:20 p.m. Sunday night after opening sets from Promise Land and Geordie Greep, marking the New York rockers’ return to South Florida amid a new era for the band.
The Hollywood show came on the heels of the release of the Strokes’ seventh album, “Reality Awaits”, a record whose heavy use of Auto-Tune has already proven divisive among critics and fans. But with more than two decades of material to work with, the band didn’t have to rely solely on the new stuff.
