Census data shows St. Lucie surging while Palm Beach growth nearly stops

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Florida’s population boom is losing momentum, but the slowdown is playing out very differently from county to county — and city to city.

Along the Treasure Coast and in Palm Beach County, the clearest contrast is between St. Lucie County, where growth remains strong, and Palm Beach County, where it has nearly stalled.

St. Lucie County added an estimated 10,857 residents between July 1, 2024, and July 1, 2025, pushing its population above 400,000, according to new U.S. Census Bureau estimates…
