PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The rider of an electric motorcycle killed by a Jeep Wrangler was identified on Thursday, according to officials.

On Tuesday, Portland Police said they responded to reports of the crash at Northeast Halsey Street and 111th Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. They initially thought the rider was on an electric bicycle, but have since clarified that it was an electric motorcycle.
Officials said paramedics arriving at the scene took the bike rider to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. He has been identified as Jered W. Nelson, 40, of Portland. Nelson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident…
