Community rallies for Vancouver pastor and wife after devastating house fire

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Help is pouring in for a local pastor and his wife, just days after their home — which is also used as a care facility for disabled adults — caught fire.

Igor Serpevsky and his wife Yelena had the house and business for 17 years. Then just after 11 a.m. Sunday, the Vancouver Fire Department responded to reports of a fire in the two-story home.

When crews arrived, they saw flames and smoke coming from the back of the house. Additionally, one person was found inside. He was later taken to the hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries…
