Police in standoff with armed suspect in NE Portland; hostage released

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Tactical teams responded to a reported hostage standoff in the Hazelwood neighborhood Friday morning.

Just after 5:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance with a weapon in the 1200 block of Northeast 122nd Avenue. Police said the initial reports were that an armed suspect was inside an apartment with a woman and was not allowing her to leave.
