‘She gave me an appreciation for life’: Portland students document assisted living residents’ life stories

At the head of the dining room in Rose Schnitzer Manor, high schooler Anderson Kitzis presented Monday about the life of Holocaust survivor Sonia Lieberman.

Lieberman, 92, is one of many residents at Rose Schnitzer Manor, an assisted living community in Southwest Portland, who Kitzis and his classmates interviewed over the last nine months for an oral history project about the residents’ lives.
