‘Won’t be tolerated’: Shooter in deadly 2021 TriMet dispute found guilty

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Nearly five years after a TriMet dispute turned deadly, a man has been convicted in connection to the incident.

A Multnomah County jury found Wayne Conrad Thompson guilty of second-degree murder with a firearm on Monday, according to the District Attorney’s Office. The agency revealed Circuit Court Judge Kelly Skye found the 51-year-old man guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm as well.

The case dates back to Aug. 8, 2021, when the Portland Police Bureau launched an investigation into the murder of Adrian Anastacio Richardson following an incident at Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard and Southeast 26th Avenue.

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office reported the 44-year-old man was caught on camera “verbally harassing” another TriMet rider after boarding a bus eastbound on Hawthorne Boulevard. Thompson later boarded the bus, where Richardson continued referring to the other passenger as “‘white trash’ and other derogatory names” for another 30 seconds, authorities said…
