One of Multnomah County’s fiercest critics has jumped into the race to be its top executive.
Sharon Meieran, an emergency room doctor and former commissioner, announced her plans to run for county chair on Tuesday, as first reported by OPB.
“The people who depend on county government deserve leaders willing to do more than manage decline,” Meieran wrote in her announcement. “So I’ve decided to do what I hoped I would not have to do: run for Multnomah County chair.”…
