Tualatin reactivates speed-monitoring, red-light camera at intersection

A traffic safety camera at the intersection of Southwest Tualatin-Sherwood Road and Avery Street has been reactivated after construction in the area, the city of Tualatin said.

The camera monitors cars that run the red light and those traveling at least 11 mph over the speed limit.

Drivers have a 30-day warning period, which began Wednesday, to readjust to the camera. Any drivers caught on camera speeding or running a red light before July 9 will receive a warning in the mail, the city said. After the warning period, violators will receive citations…
