Portland city council adopts budget after contentious meeting featuring protestors, ejections

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Outrage was on display at a Portland city council meeting as councilors worked to adopt the $8.5 billion budget on Tuesday night

At least 30 people were ejected from the meeting for causing disruptions, making it a long evening for councilors.

Councilors have moved a step closer to closing the $160 million budget shortfall, eventually adopting the 2026-27 budget after several disruptive incidents from anti-ICE protestors.
