‘Not a good idea’: Neighbors push back on proposal to use Washington Park field for overflow parking

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A neighborhood coalition is pushing back against a proposal to use one of Washington Park’s last large open fields for temporary overflow parking this summer, saying it could have lasting impacts on green space.

If the permit is approved, it would allow Sherwood Field — formerly soccer fields — to be used for temporary overflow parking during the busy summer season.
