WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. — A 20-year-old Portland man is in custody following a chaotic multi-property pursuit Wednesday afternoon after a reported burglary and assault in unincorporated Washington County.
On June 17, 2026, at approximately 4:48 p.m., deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a criminal mischief call in the 5000 block of NW 171st Place after a 9-1-1 caller reported that window screens had been removed, window casing was damaged, and an unknown male was inside the backyard of the residence.
According to authorities, the suspect fled the scene when confronted. The caller’s husband pursued the man and was subsequently assaulted, sustaining minor injuries. During the altercation, the suspect also took the victim’s keys before continuing to flee on foot…
