OREGON CITY, Ore. — The Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office will not pursue criminal charges against deputies involved in a woman’s jailhouse death in February, the agency announced Friday, concluding that her death was due to a “perfect storm” of factors.
Gerlinde Spring Lynch, 47, died on Feb. 18 less than two hours after her arrest in downtown Oregon City that evening.
According to the DA’s office, the medical examiner’s autopsy report determined that Lynch died of cardiac arrest from a combination of methamphetamine toxicity, physical restraint, obesity and hypertensive cardiovascular disease. A toxicology test found that she had 1,500 nanograms per milliliter of meth in her system when she died…
