PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) β Veteran Portland journalist Zane Sparling died on June 21 after battling a rare form of cancer for the last two years, according to The Oregonian. He was 33 years old.
Sparling was known for covering crime, courts, public safety and Portland community issues. He gained national attention during the 2020 Portland protests when he was pushed into a wall by a police officer. The incident was caught on video.
