Nearly 5000 PGE customers in the dark after tree falls into power line in SE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A tree fell into a power line early Tuesday morning, knocking out power to thousands of Portland General Electric customers.

The call was originally dispatched as a possible house fire at Southeast 41st Avenue and Southeast Ramona Street around 3:33 a.m.

When crews arrived, they did not see a fire but reported several sheared-off power poles dangling over the roadway and possibly power lines across vehicles…
