PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A 61-year-old is facing stolen vehicle charges after almost hitting officers when he sped away from a traffic stop in Southeast Portland on Tuesday.
The incident started when officers tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle near Southeast 91st Avenue near Powell Boulevard.
A Portland Police Bureau spokesperson said the driver took off, nearly hitting the patrol officers. They didn’t chase the suspect, but the bureau’s air support unit kept track of the driver, who stopped several blocks away near SE 97th Avenue and Pardee Street…
