Pix Patisserie has been serving tasty treats on East Burnside since 2001, and some of them have been available at all hours in their Pix-O-Matic vending machines since 2020. The machines have long included random amusements along with their delicacies, but have recently been joined by a different sort of distraction.
Enter Zoltar, the animatronic figure at the center of the fortune telling machine made famous in the 1988 movie “Big.” Today’s Zoltar machines can be traced to that film, but their origin appears to date back to the 1960s.
While Pix’s Zoltar isn’t going to grant you any wishes, ill-advisedly related to rapid aging or otherwise, he will give you advice, and a set of lucky numbers…
