Passenger Killed, Driver Injured In Early Morning Crash In Portland’s Cully Neighborhood

PORTLAND, Ore. — One person was killed and another was injured in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in Portland’s Cully neighborhood, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

The crash was reported at about 3:27 a.m. near Northeast Lombard Street and Northeast 72nd Avenue. Officers arrived minutes later and found two people inside the vehicle. A passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was taken to a hospital with multiple injuries.

Preliminary findings from investigators indicate an Infiniti G35 was traveling west on Northeast Lombard Street at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to negotiate the turn onto Northeast Killingsworth Street. Police said the vehicle lost control and struck a metal light pole…
