PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — An Estacada firefighter was transported to a hospital after suffering serious injuries during a fireworks display over the Fourth of July weekend.
Firefighter Micah Koch, a certified pyrotechnician, was working his fourth year at the Estacada fireworks event at Estacada High School when he suffered a severe injury following the display, according to a statement from the Estacada Fire District. He received immediate medical care at the scene.
A Life Flight helicopter was requested but later canceled after paramedics arrived. Koch was transported to a Portland-area hospital, where he continues to receive treatment for his injuries…
