After questions from KATU, ODOT weighs safety fixes at intersection following deadly crash

Months after a deadly crash at a Hillsboro-area intersection sparked renewed calls for safety improvements, ODOT says it is reviewing the area for possible changes, but the agency says major upgrades requested by neighbors could take time, funding and further evaluation.

The response comes after community members raised concerns about the safety of the intersection at Southwest Hillsboro Highway 219 and Scholls Sherwood Road and surrounding roadway following the crash.
