PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An unleashed dog attacked three people in Southwest Portland on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
A Portland police officer told KOIN 6 News that officers responded to a report of a dog attack of a mother, son and a third person unrelated to them behind Portland Fire Station 18 off of Southwest Dolph Court near Southwest 30th Avenue.
Authorities said when they got to the scene, there was a lot of blood on the mother and the dog. When officers arrived, the mother and son were taking refuge in a truck while the dog remained unleashed and uncontained. One of the first responders was able to safely get the dog on a leash and tie it to a fence while the victims received medical care.
Initially, it was reported that the son’s finger was bitten off. However, officers said they later confirmed the victim’s finger was only broken. The mother and son were later treated by paramedics and sent to the hospital trauma center…
