PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Gunfire erupted at what police described as a large house party in Northeast Portland early this morning, leaving an 18-year-old man dead and five other people injured as investigators searched for evidence across multiple blocks.
Portland Police Bureau Sgt. Kevin Allen said officers were dispatched at 3:33 a.m. to the 5900 block of Northeast Alberta Street on a report of a shooting. While officers were responding, police received additional information that there were multiple victims and “a lot of people there,” Allen said.
Allen said officers arrived within 10 minutes and found two people with gunshot wounds at the scene. Officers provided trauma first aid, including applying a tourniquet to one victim, and called for EMS. Paramedics took both victims to the hospital, and their injuries were later determined to be non-life-threatening, Allen said…
