PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The body of a Camas teen has been recovered after he drowned in Round Lake.
Officers and firefighters responded to reports that a male was struggling to swim after jumping from a rope swing near the Lacamas Creek Dam around 7:34 p.m. on Friday, according to the Camas Police Department. Officials said witnesses were unable to get him to shore despite their “substantial effort” to assist him.

In addition, CPD reported the victim wasn’t located after the Vancouver Fire Department’s Heavy Rescue Team responded to the scene. The Search & Rescue Underwater Recovery Team from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office was also unable to find him after searching the lake until 3:30 a.m., according to authorities.
