Troutdale eyes pedestrian bridge to cross 257th

The city of Troutdale is seeking input on a proposed pedestrian bridge that will get folks across Southwest 257th Avenue more safely.

The roadway is a busy five-lane freight route with heavy truck traffic, which often makes the intersection at the Historic Columbia River Highway uncomfortable and challenging for people of all ages who walk, bike and use mobility devices.

A safe crossing over 257th was voiced as a community desire during the Town Center Planning process. With Oregon Community Paths funding and Oregon Department of Transportation support, the city is looking into a potential bridge connecting Southwest Second Street and Southwest Halsey Street…
