Emergency dispatchers at the Portland Bureau of Emergency Communications sent East Precinct officers to an injury crash in the Woodstock business district at about 8:33 p.m. on Sunday evening, September 13. Callers reported that a vehicle had struck an apartment building.
At the scene, it was clear that brand-new Subaru Crosstrek – it still had the dealer placard in the license plate frames – had clipped the newly- constructed “Modera Woodstock” apartment building at 4805 S.E. Woodstock Boulevard.
Oddly, the vehicle managed to miss the young “street trees” planted along the block, coming to rest against the building instead of shearing off the saplings. Debris and tire marks showed where the vehicle had mounted the curb and crossed the sidewalk before impact…
