PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The family of a man who died while living in publicly funded transitional housing in Portland is suing Multnomah County and the contractor that operates the housing complex.
The $3 million lawsuit, first reported by The Oregonian, claims Central City Concern failed to check on Eric Eno while he lived at the Shoreline transitional/parole residential complex. The lawsuit alleges that failure allowed Eno’s body to severely decompose after his death and caused his sister, Kristine Eno, emotional distress.
The lawsuit alleges the lack of daily check-ins violated the county’s contract with Central City Concern. It also blames the county for failing to enforce those terms after another resident died under similar circumstances at the same complex months before Eno’s death…
