A 37-year-old man who bought 124 guns in Oregon during the past 12 years while falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen on federal firearms forms was sentenced Thursday to a year and a half in federal prison.
Vicente Cortez Quiroz, a Mexican national, pleaded guilty this spring to trafficking firearms. He admitted that he purchased and received guns unlawfully from firearms dealers from May 16, 2023, through March 2025, after lying that he was a U.S. citizen on federal forms from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
