Portland contractor J.R. Johnson will close and lay off 55 workers, according to a state layoff notice issued Monday.
The closure will occur on Oct. 31, according to a notice issued in compliance with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. The workers are not represented by a union.
