Federal agency sues Fred Meyer over pregnancy accommodations at Vancouver store

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) – The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is suing Fred Meyer, claiming the grocery chain violated federal law by failing to accommodate two pregnant employees at a Vancouver store.

The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday, says the two employees worked at the Fred Meyer at 11325 Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard.

According to the lawsuit, one worker had her hours cut after asking for help with severe nausea and vomiting in 2023. It also claims she was disciplined for pregnancy-related absences and was later fired…
