PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – After nearly half a century, Crime Stoppers of Oregon is no longer taking tips from the public to help solve crimes.
The nonprofit group has offered cash rewards for tips that lead to an arrest in Oregon since 1983. They announced on Sept. 1 they would be shutting down at the end of the month.
Tipsters could contact Crime Stoppers to bridge the gap and give information to police. Making it easier for people who want to remain anonymous or may have a complicated relationship with law enforcement to come forward…
