Speeding driver arrested for hit and run incidents and suspicion of driving under influence

ADAMS COUNTY, Wash. — A 33-year-old Portland, Oregon, man was arrested for multiple charges after he tried to flee from officers.

At 12:20 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office says they received information from Washington State Patrol that a car was going 150 miles per hour toward Tri-Cities from I-90.

The sheriff’s office says the black BMW had no license plates, and WSP told deputies they had probable cause to arrest the driver for felony eluding.

The sheriff’s office says deputies staged on South Highway 395 and saw a car that matched the description of the black BMW driving at a high speed. Deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop, but it was not successful.

The sheriff’s office says deputies observed signs of a possible DUI based on the BMW’s driving and initiated a pursuit. The sheriff’s office says the BMW hit at least two cars on the highway and eventually collided with a guardrail near Highway 395 and Highway 26.

The sheriff’s office says there are no known injuries.
