PORTLAND, Ore. — Officials with the state of Oregon are looking to limit access to Sauvie Island this summer, citing concerns about safety. But some businesses on the island are pushing back on the proposal, saying it’s a threat to their survival.
Less than 30 minutes outside of Portland, Sauvie Island is a popular summertime destination with small-town charm.
