Driver who struck pedestrian, then helped her get off the street arrested in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Vancouver police say they have arrested the driver who hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk, then helped her out of the street before driving away.

The incident happened on March 12 at C Street and Evergreen Boulevard, where a woman had been struck by the driver of a white van while in the crosswalk. The driver of the van got out, helped the woman out of the street and drove off, according to the Vancouver Police Department. The woman was hospitalized with injuries that were not expected to be life-threatening.

Police said they received information on the van’s location and driver’s identity on Wednesday, then located the van parked outside a residence.
