Historic highway reopens at Multnomah Falls, offering another route to busy waterfall

The Historic Columbia River Highway is officially back open — and just in time.

A segment of the historic highway at Multnomah Falls reopened Friday evening, once again allowing traffic to flow freely past Oregon’s tallest waterfall, the Oregon Department of Transportation announced Saturday.

The area had been closed on and off for two years, as crews worked to repair viaducts on both the east and west sides of Multnomah Creek. During the closures, traffic was blocked from continuing past Oregon’s tallest waterfall…
