14 New Restaurant and Bar Openings Around Portland, April 2026

CRESTON-KENILWORTH — Bagel pop-up darling Pipsqueak opened the doors of its first storefront on Saturday, April 11, with long lines and sold-out batches nearly every day since. Founder and owner Madilyn Gibbons and her team’s hand-rolled and boiled bagels developed a devoted following during 2024 through their presence at the Milwaukie Farmers Market and area events, so expect a lengthy wait for now, especially if you’re going over the weekend. Choose from a variety of bagel flavors, including everything and cheddar jalapeño, complemented by house cream cheese schmears and toppings like lox or fruit. 3844 SE Gladstone Street

PEARL DISTRICT — If you didn’t get a chance to snag a dinner reservation before it closed its doors, we have good news: República is back, at least for a spell. After announcing its closure on January 28 and holding its last dinner service on March 8, Angel Medina shared on Sunday, March 15, that the Mexican-PNW restaurant is switching to daytime service Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Grab conchas, arroz con frijoles, quesadillas, and pozole. No timeline on how long it’ll last, so get while the getting is good. 100 NW 10th Avenue

PEARL DISTRICT — The Pearl has a newcomer this month in Hearth & Vine, which launched on Thursday, April 2, in the former Henry’s Tavern space of the Henry Weinhard Brewery building. New American cuisine through a seasonal Pacific Northwest lens is the style; think raw bar oysters, tagliatelle with mushrooms from the Hood River area, and lemon brown butter chicken alongside Tillamook buttered potatoes. Pop in for lunch, happy hour, or dinner; the large wine-by-the-glass list makes this a nice option for a post-work drink. 10 NW 12th Avenue

PEARL DISTRICT — After first being announced in 2024, Thai street noodle spot Guay Tiew finally debuted in the Pearl District at the end of March. It’s the latest spot from local restaurateur Chookiat Saenguraiporn, who is also behind Thai Peacock and Khao Moo Dang. Brothy noodle stews like guay tiew ruea (boat noodles) are front and center on the menu, with choose-your-own broth and noodle builds, plus rice dishes and snacky sides. 330 NW 10th Avenue

BUCKMAN — The team behind wine-forward French-meets-Northwest restaurant L’Orange has a new spot in Buvons, a wine bar which opened on Thursday, March 19, along Southeast Belmont. The spot is bubbly heaven, with a strong sparkling wine and Champagne focus, paired with grilled cheese sandwiches, light nibbles, or L’Orange cake with cardamom custard. If you were a fan of Les Caves’s wine-and-grilled-cheese pairings (current co-owner of L’Orange, winemaker Jeff Vejr, was also behind Les Caves), this spot scratches that much-missed itch. 120 SE Belmont Street
