PORTLAND, Ore. — Cuts are coming to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, and Sheriff Nicole Morrisey O’Donnell previewed on Tuesday that they could fall on a program which helps people living on the streets. Meanwhile, local service providers are already preparing to pick up the slack.
The county’s ongoing budget battle unfolded in a work session Tuesday as the sheriff and District Attorney Nathan Vasquez each pitched their own proposals to commissioners for their respective agency budgets.
