Woman says Kaiser failed to protect her from abuse by practitioner as a minor

CLARK COUNTY, Wash. (KATU) — A woman is alleging that she was sexually abused at the Kaiser Permanente Salmon Creek Medical Office.

The plaintiff, Jane Doe, filed a lawsuit which alleges Kaiser Permanente failed to protect a patient from sexual abuse by Dr. Michael Wilmington while she was receiving care at its Salmon Creek facility as a minor.

It claims Kaiser had a duty to prevent foreseeable harm, properly hire and supervise Wilmington, train staff to recognize abuse, and warn patients of risks—but failed on all fronts. As a result, the plaintiff says Wilmington was able to use his position, access, and Kaiser’s facilities to carry out the abuse…
