‘Meet crazy with crazy’: Mom chases home intruder away with stick

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) – An Oregon mother of two is sharing her story after a man allegedly broke into her home and threatened to kill her entire family. The suspect was later arrested after hitting a police officer in the head with a rock, authorities say.

Amanda Materi Brown was at home with her two children Thursday in Portland’s Overlook neighborhood. She was watching a movie in bed around 11 p.m. when she heard a strange noise coming from inside the house.

“He was screaming really loudly… (and you) couldn’t really understand except ‘I’ll kill you. I’ll kill everyone’ was really obvious,” Materi Brown said.

She found a man, later identified by the Portland Police Bureau as 35-year-old Timothy Reed, standing inside her home by her sliding glass door. He was holding the lid to her metal trash can in one hand and an unknown object in the other…
