Nearly 10,000 people are expected to gather for Lake Oswego’s star-spangled parade and concerts over the Fourth of July weekend, according to event organizers. For America’s 250th birthday, the city’s extended and expanded celebration features a dunk tank, two performing bands instead of one and more food vendors and activity booths.
Unlike last year, the city isn’t planning to prohibit public access to Oswego Lake during Fourth of July weekend. There will be no changes to lake access hours, meaning lake entry from all access points is allowed from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset, according to the city.
The star-spangled celebrations start with the Millennium Concert Band from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3 at Millennium Park Plaza. The band performs each year to honor veterans, according to Emily Liu, Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation supervisor. Food vendors will also be at the event…
