Fire in Mountainside High School shop building causes damage; classes canceled for the day

BEAVERTON Ore. (KPTV) – Fire crews responded Thursday morning to a commercial fire alarm at Mountainside High School, where arriving units found smoke coming from one side of the shop building.

Shortly before 10 a.m., crews were sent to the school after reports of a fire in the school’s woodshop area. According to a spokesperson for Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, crews saw smoke coming from part of the building and upgraded the response to a full emergency.
