Al Fresco on the Hill to run through September despite pushback

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Providence Board of Licenses voted in favor of allowing Al Fresco on the Hill to run through Labor Day weekend.

The board initially only approved the popular Federal Hill event for the month of June after receiving pushback from several restaurant owners.

The European-style outdoor dining experience launched six years ago as a way for restaurants — especially those with tiny eateries or no outdoor patio — to continue safely serving guests throughout the pandemic…
