EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Department of Health announced Friday that it will be implementing a new system to monitor symptoms of the Ebola virus.
The implementation comes as an Ebola outbreak in Congo and Uganda has caused a global health emergency, according to the World Health Organization.
Rhode Island is far from the only state participating in the system, which aims to monitor travelers who arrived in the U.S. from Congo, Uganda and South Sudan within the past 21 days. The three African countries are the ones being most affected by the current Ebola outbreak…
