Parking company to pay $1.35M for alleged hidden fees in RI

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Drivers who parked in paid garages and lots across Rhode Island between 2019 and 2024 may have been overcharged and are now entitled to refunds.

Parking garage management company UPP Global, LLC, has reached a $1.35 million settlement with the state, resolving a lawsuit over several alleged “unfair and deceptive” practices.

“When a company or business is operating outside of the law to the detriment of Rhode Islanders, we step in,” Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha said in a statement.
