PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Rhode Island Department of Human Services supervisor accused of committing benefits fraud has agreed to a plea deal with federal prosecutors.
Nadine Jean-Baptiste of Warwick was arrested in September 2024 for allegedly stealing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits by accessing recipients’ personal information. Prosecutors said she subsequently used funds from hundreds of EBT cards to purchase groceries.
Earlier this month, Jean-Baptiste agreed to plead guilty to charges of SNAP benefit fraud and conspiracy, according to court documents obtained by 12 News.
