PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Gov. Dan McKee’s campaign appears to be suspending most TV advertising for the time being, with a month to go before the primary election.
McKee has placed no significant orders to air TV commercials during the broadcasting week that begins Tuesday, according to a 12 News analysis of FCC filings as of Monday night. Political advertising is generally reported on a Tuesday-Monday schedule.
The governor’s campaign had spent about $30,000 on local stations as recently as last week, buying roughly 100 commercial spots. But the campaign is currently only scheduled to air a handful of ads over the next seven days during “Seinfeld” repeats and weekend newscasts, holdovers from older orders…
